  • Baby Rhyme Time (0 years - 2 years)

    Suitable for babies up to 24 months old and their parents.

    Held at various library branches, under the First5Forever banner, this fun and interactive half-hour program is full of simple songs, action rhymes, and shared book reading.

    Sessions are held during the school term.

    Suitable for toddlers and their parents.

    Held under the First5Forever banner, this fun and interactive half-hour program aims to boost your toddler’s literacy development and have fun with action songs, fingerplays, dances, rhymes, stories, and sensory play.

  • Story Time (3 years - 5 years)

    Our Story Time sessions, under the First5Forever banner, are suitable for children up to 5 years of age with parental supervision. Activities range from reading, singing, dancing and simple crafts. Sessions are held during the school term.

  • Playtime in the Park

    Suitable for children aged 0-5 and their parents.

    Held under the First5Forever banner, this fun and interactive program aims to boost your child’s coordination and social development and have fun with a mixture of sensory play.

    Sessions are held during the school term.

  • Rebel hours – after school activities (6 years – 12 years)

    All sessions listed are aimed at children and teens after school. Adult supervision is required for children under the age of 12. Activities include, but are not limited to, crafts, games, robotics, movies, and homework assistance. Access is provided to the free Coffee Bar including tea and hot chocolate. Sessions alternate between self-led and staff-delivered and are held during the school term.

  • Robotics

    Join the library staff for the educational fun of robotics. Programs and time slots are offered to all community members during each School Holiday break. Robotics are also accessible during the school term for people of all ages, just ask your nearest library branch.

    Build, play and learn with free access to new technology. All library branches across the region have robotics kits for use of the public.

    Schools and community groups are encouraged to contact their nearest library branch to arrange sessions.

  • Tech Savvy

    Tech Savvy Seniors Queensland Training Guidelines have been developed, by the State Library of Queensland in partnership with Telstra, for public library staff to deliver the training program to seniors in their local community.

    This free course covers the introduction to computers, tablets, smartphones, emailing, job search, basic cyber safety, and more useful information in a friendly environment.

    We also offer tech support by request. Just ask your nearest library branch if they can help you with your query

  • Beginners’ Family History Workshops

    Come and learn how to get started with your family history research. We will introduce you to the popular Ancestry database as well as provide you with hints and tips to help get you up and running with your research.

    Family History group meets once a month, every second Monday of the month at 9:00am

    Emerald

    These three part workshops will be ran periodically throughout the year on Wednesdays from 2:00pm – 4:00pm. Contact the Emerald Library staff for more details.

  • Vintage Sessions

     

    Vintage Sessions are an ongoing program for adults and seniors to relax, learn, connect and discover. Each session is different, enjoying activities such as craft, robotics, workshops, local history, and more. Bookings are essential through EventBrite.
