Publication Scheme

Our publication scheme describes and categorises information routinely available.  It has been developed to give the community greater access to information held by Central Highlands Regional Council.

Section 21 of the Right to Information Act (2009) requires council to have in place a Publication Scheme. The purpose of this Scheme is to present a consolidated, user-friendly and comprehensive overview of council’s organisation, its relationship to the community and the various avenues for public access to council’s processes.

Information is grouped and accessible through seven classes:

Administrative access and contacting council for further information

  • Information not covered by the Publication Scheme

Not all the information the council publishes is detailed in the publication scheme. Where it is possible to administratively release information, council will first consider this option. Information that is not published or cannot be administratively released can be requested using through the Right to Information process

  • Terms of access

All information in our publication scheme is available free of charge.  Where possible, information is directly linked and available for you to download.  If you are having difficulties in accessing any of these documents, please contact us to make arrangements to have the information provided in a suitable format.

  • Feedback and complaints

If you wish to provide feedback to improve our Publication Scheme or make a complaint about the information available, please contact us.

Council values your comments and any feedback.  Any complaints will be managed in accordance with council’s Administrative Action Complaints Policy.
