Work experience

Central Highlands Regional Council recognises that work experience is an important part of student’s development. We aim to enable high school students to experience the dynamic area of Local Government, gaining valuable insights into their chosen field of study while contributing to part of their curriculum through unpaid work experience. To be eligible for a work experience placement you must be a secondary school student who is at least 15 years old.

The number of work experience placements available with council depends on the ability of the work area to provide effective on-the-job experience at a time suitable for both the branch and the student – (a minimum of 4 weeks lead time would be ideal).

Complete our work experience expression of interest form here.

Please note: You will be required to speak with your schools work experience coordinator regarding a placement prior to completing our online form.
