Emerald Botanical Gardens – Path upgrade works

Please be advised that path upgrade works at the Emerald Botanical Gardens will commence on Wednesday 26 March 2025.  Lohman Contracting will be managing the site works during the construction period.

To ensure public safety, sections of the paths and gardens will be temporarily closed off during construction. Machinery and contractors will be active on site, and we kindly ask visitors to ensure children are supervised at all times while in the gardens.

This project will upgrade the current paths, making them wider and more accessible. The works are expected to take approximately eight weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Please note that access to the western side of the gardens will be limited during this period.

The playground, fitness area, and barbeque areas near the Opal Street entrance will remain open throughout the works. Council encourages the community to make use of the eastern side of the gardens during this time. The eastern section features:

• A concrete path circling the lake
• The Waltzing Matilda sculpture
• Marble installations
• A rainforest walk
• Toilets, playground, and barbeque areas
