New clubhouse marks major milestone for McIndoe Park upgrades

It’s game on for a new era at McIndoe Park, with construction of the Bob Love Clubhouse now complete.
The new clubhouse delivers a significant upgrade for the Emerald sports precinct, replacing the previous canteen building with a contemporary, accessible and highly functional venue.
‘The new clubhouse is a welcoming and valuable community asset for local sporting clubs,’ Mayor Janice, Moriarty said.
‘These facilities are more than a building. They are the kind of place where young players will celebrate their first try, volunteers will serve meals from the canteen, community groups will raise funds and families will come together to celebrate big sporting events.’
Key features of the new clubhouse include:
- A large canteen service area
- Commercial-grade kitchen facilities, including cooking equipment, preparation areas, dishwasher and refrigeration
- Cold room and dry storage facilities for food and beverages
- Four separate storage rooms for club equipment and supplies
- A covered outdoor entertaining and service area
- A dedicated barbecue area
- New accessible pathways, ramps, handrails and tactile indicators
- Modern finishes, lighting, air conditioning and upgraded services throughout
The replacement clubhouse retains the name Bob Love in honour of a respected local rugby league identity and was built by Central Queensland-based company HWC Building Contractors.
Works are continuing on the additional full-size field, with turfing to start in coming months.
These works are part of the $3.2 million upgrade proudly funded by the Queensland Government.
