Public notice: Cattle on the moove

Central Highlands Regional Council advises that 1400 head of cattle will begin their journey from Racecourse Creek, Coorumbene to Rolleston Sports Grounds. 

The travelling stock is scheduled for Thursday 10 April and is expected to take the entire day. 

Under Queensland legislation, travelling livestock have the right of way and may hold up traffic for 15 minutes. If you encounter stock on the road, slow down and drive carefully when it’s safe to pass. 

Warning signs will be in place to advise oncoming traffic of the cattle’s location. Drivers are advised to slow down and drive with care. 

Stock routes, whether they be road reserves or dedicated stock routes, are owned by the state government and managed by Central Highlands Regional Council.
