Your future. Your Region. Your Say. Community consultation now open for council’s next 5-year Corporate Plan.
Posted on September 16, 2026
Central Highlands Regional Council is inviting residents to help shape its next Corporate Plan by sharing what matters most to them and where they believe council should focus its efforts over the next 5 years.
The Corporate Plan is council’s highest-level strategic document and overarching roadmap for the future. It sets council’s long-term direction and guides future investment, service delivery and decision-making.
With the current Corporate Plan ending in 2027, council is beginning the development of a new plan for 2027-2032 and is seeking community input with region-wide consultation, which is now open until Sunday 11 October 2026.
Mayor Janice Moriarty said the community’s ideas, priorities and aspirations would play an important role in shaping the new plan.
‘Great Corporate Plans start with great community conversations. The Central Highlands is a region with strong communities and great ideas for the future,’ she said.
‘This is not about starting from scratch. We will be building on what our communities have already told us through previous planning and engagement, while taking a closer look at the priorities, challenges and opportunities that should shape council over the next 5 years.
‘Community input is essential. The more people who participate, the stronger and more representative the plan will be.’
Chief Executive Officer Jason Hoolihan said the Corporate Plan would provide the strategic foundation for council’s future direction.
‘The Corporate Plan is more than a planning document. It is the blueprint that guides council’s priorities, investment decisions and services over the next 5 years,’ he said.
‘It helps council balance the needs of our communities today while planning for future growth and opportunities.
‘That’s why it’s important we hear from people right across the region, so the plan reflects what matters most to the communities we serve.’
There are plenty of ways to get involved, from completing the online survey to attending a Local Convo’s Convoy session or submitting feedback directly to council.
Community members can now complete the online survey at chrc.info/CorporatePlanSurvey and are encouraged to provide feedback before consultation closes on Sunday 11 October 2026.
Council will also be taking the conversation on the road through the Corporate Plan Local Convo’s Convoy, providing opportunities for residents to join us, learn more and tell us what matters most.
